Affordable noodles $13 and under in Melbourne’s east

Dodee Paidang
Until the end of the month, Dodee Paidang in Box Hill and Glen Waverley are both offering a $10 lunch special for crispy golden egg noodles with chicken gravy sauce, available from 11.30am to 3pm every weekday.
Otherwise, you can grab a range of noodle lunch specials for $12.90, with a range of spiciness levels ranging from “Devil” to “Super Nova”.

Rainbow Chicken
If you’re looking for cheap and quick noodles on the go while in Box Hill, Rainbow Chicken is the place for you, with $11 being the most you’ll pay for a noodle dish, while a plain noodle bowl is available for only $10.
Other noodle dishes for $11 include duck blood vermicelli, beef tendon and lamb.

Tang
The best deal we could find for noodles across the eastern suburbs - by far - was at Tang in Glen Waverley, where you can grab Yangchuan (light soup) noodles for $7, Kaiyang (dried shrimp and spring onion oil) or Congyou (scalliion oil) noodles for $6.
Other dishes costing a little more but still well below $13 include Wonton noodle for $10, Meejie (sausage wrapped in a bean curd) noodles for $12.50.

Nan Yang Kopitiam
Try Nan Yang Kopitiam’s bitter melon noodle soup or dry noodle for $12.50 – or grab a classic claypot noodle dish for $10.
If you’re really strapped for cash, try out their high tea menu available from 3pm to 5pm every weekday, where you can grab their economy fried bee hoon or rice vermicelli for $6, with extras including a fried egg for $2.50.

O’Town
From 11am to closing time at 5pm, O’Town offers a range of $10 lunch specials, including chicken chop with noodles and a Singapore Mee Pok.

Jalan Alor
We highlighted the recent arrival of Jalan Alor in Mitcham and their $10 deals. While our contributor and her mum grabbed two rice dishes, most of their noodle dishes are $10, including a roast sausage Kolo Mee dish and Curry Chee Cheong Fun (steamed rice noodle in a curry sauce).
