Tucked away near the Mountain High Shopping Centre in Bayswater, CandyGo is a treasure trove of sweet treats from all over the world.
Never tried L&P from New Zealand or Dutch liquorice? Now’s your chance to give them a go.

A Sweet
Specialising in dessert bowls at $3.68 per 100 grams, you can fill up with bingsu, icecream or a drink and use whatever toppings you want, including home-made taro balls, stretchy mochi, peach gum and water chestnut popping pearls.
Or check out their grass jelly, which is made by boiling the leaves and stalks of the Mesona chinensis plant, served with syrup, honey or fruits.

Find yourself jumping off the train at Box Hill on the way home and suddenly craving something sweet? Stop into the Grain Asian Dessert Bar.
Cheap eats include their Hong Kong style egg tarts at $3.50 a pop and sesame balls with red bean paste for $3.50.

Happy Dough’s pop-up shop at Eastland specialises in catering to all food intolerances, with all of their offerings gluten-free, soy-free and vegan-friendly.
Original cinnamon doughnuts are available from $3 each, with iced or specialty doughnuts costing $5.50.

Carousel Ice-Cream and Cake
Carousel Ice-Cream is just a little over the line at $5.10 for a single scoop, but I couldn’t go past a shout out of this local landmark which opened in 1981 and moved to Bayswater North in 2003.
Pick from 30 dairy, 12 non-dairy and three frozen yoghurt flavours, including Oreo Honeycomb, Chocolate Mud and Cappuccino.
