Cafe Emjay

46 Railway Avenue, Ringwood East

This intimate cafe setting features a range of cheaper offerings, including a bunch of toasted sandwiches. I recently popped into Cafe Emjay with my family and grabbed the pulled pork bagel for $15.50.

The pork was flavourful and paired well with the fresh coleslaw and a slightly spicy sauce, topped off with some melted cheese.

Other cheaper menu options include their egg and bacon bun for $14, with the option to add 2 hash browns for $5, a granola bowl for $18 or their Teriyaki chicken burger for $19.

Hoshino

6 Railway Avenue, Ringwood East

Keen for a sweet Japanese pick-me-up? Then Hoshino is the perfect place to stop and sip on a matcha for $8 – or grab a yuzu genmaicha croissant mixing the tart taste of yuzu with the warmth of genmaicha tea.

Or if you want to be really naughty, you can grab a slice of a Red Bean Matcha Basque cheesecake for $10.

Fortunate Son Cafe

117 Bedford Road, Ringwood East

Opening at 5am most days during the week, Fortunate Son Cafe is a popular coffee stop for tradies and morning people alike.

There is also plenty to love on the menu, including small bites like a brekky burger for $8, with options to add cheese for $1 and a hash brown for $2, or their sriracha polenta burger for $9.50.

Thai Ute

34 Railway Avenue, Ringwood East

Thai Ute has a lunch deal on offer, with a selection of appetisers and a main at $15.90.

Their lunch menu also features a wide range of cheaper meals, including Pad See Ewe for $14.90 or Pad Prik with rice for $15.90.

Komuni

87 Bedford Road, Ringwood East

Designed to be shared, Komuni’s menu features chicken karaage at $18, Nasu Dengkaku - diced eggplant cooked in a sweet miso sauce - for $16 or Ebi Tempura Udon Soup for only $18.

Or if you simply want to stop in for some desert, you can grab a Nutella gyoza with green tea ice cream for $12 or an apple and yuzu crumble for $16.

Bedford Coffee Co

81 Bedford Road, Ringwood East

We recently featured Bedford Coffee Co and highlighted their wide range of vanilla slice offerings from about $10.

However, there are plenty of other cheap meals you can grab on the go, including foccacias and toasties from about $10 to salads from $17.60.
