Cheaper cocktails and affordable ales: Eastern Melbourne’s best Happy Hour deals

Finding a good local Happy Hour deal can make planning your next afternoon or evening catch-up a little bit easier.

The Ten Saints

Opening in May 2019, The Ten Saints is a cocktail bar and beer garden offering a range of local and international rums and spirits.

Happy Hour runs from 4-6pm Thursday to Sunday and includes $10 wines, $10 pints of Melbourne Bitter, Bright Pale and Monkey Man Lager and $10 for all basic spirits.

All margaritas, spritzers, espresso martinis and daiquiris are available for $15.

Where: 164 Main Street, Croydon

The Kilburn

This premium whiskey and cocktail bar hosts Happy Hour specials from 4-7pm Tuesday to Sunday, with $9 lager pints, $8 house wines and $8 basic spirits.

Or if you’re looking for a classic cocktail, you can sip on an Aperol Spritz, Espresso Martini, Cosmopolitans, Long Island Iced Tea or a margarita for $15.

The Firehouse

Built in 1929, the Ringwood Fire Station became the Firehouse in 2019 under the management of husband and wife Nick and Beth Allardice.

Out in the beer garden, Happy Hour runs from 3 to 6.30pm on weekdays, with tap beers at $7.90, $8 for selected wines and house spirits and $13 for selected cocktails.

From noon to 4pm on weekends, Happy Hour expands into 2.4-litre towers, including Great Northern on tap for $39.99 and Hard Rated Solo for $57.50, as well as a Long Island Iced Tea for $16.50 and selected cocktails for $13.

Hard Road Brewing

Husband and wife Lein and Ange Jenkins at Caltoria Brewing joined forces with Brad Merritt from Belgrave’s Oscar’s Alehouse to form Hard Road Brewing in November 2019.

Happy Hour runs from 2-5pm and includes pints for schooner prices and schooners for the price of a pot, plus discounts on selected wines and cocktails.

Bar Nearby

Husband and wife James and Ella Bishop opened Bar Nearby at the end of 2024 and recently welcomed a new member of the family with the birth of their son Freddie.

For the last few rounds, cheaper drinks runs from 10 to 11pm Thursday to Saturday, including $18 espresso martinis and margaritas and $10 house spirits.

Matilda Mont Albert

Inspired by the roadside cafes of Paris, Matilda offers Happy Hour drink prices from 3 to 5pm Thursday to Saturday, including a Henri Laurent champagne for $12 or a Four Pillars gin and tonic or negroni for $12.

If you’re feeling hungry, discounted nibbles include a hot honey whipped ricotta and goat’s cheese plate for $12 or French fries with pecorino cheese, truffle oil and aioli for $12.
