The Basin Music Festival

This volunteer-run charity event has been running since 2004, celebrating and showcasing local talent across a range of genres.

When: Friday March 20 to Sunday March 22

Where: The Basin Triangle Park, corner of Mountain Highway and Forest Road, The Basin

Cost: Free

Boom Crash Opera

First formed in 1985, Boom Crash Opera are making their way to Melbourne’s east to perform a range of their hits, including “Great Wall”, “The Best Thing” and “Dancing in the Storm”.

When: Friday March 13, 8pm

Rose Tattoo

Australian rock ‘n’ roll legends Rose Tattoo, fronted by “Angry” Anderson, are planning to bow out from touring after 50 years, with their last shows looking back at their hits and back catalogue.

When: Friday March 13, 7.30pm

Where: Sooki Lounge, 1648 Burwood Highway, Belgrave

Kew Court House Live

Italian band Bella Ciao

This month’s artists kick off with sideshows from Port Fairy Folk Festival performers, including Bonnie Jackson and Daisy Kilbourne.

Other performers taking the stage during March include Latin jazz fusion ensemble Arandú and Italian group Bella Ciao.

When: Every Thursday and Friday, 7:30-9:30pm

Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Centre Fundraiser

Proceeds from the event will support the Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Service, a non-profit volunteer organisation providing emergency relief to locals at risk, experiencing homelessness and being impacted by domestic violence.

Acts include Chloe Holmes and the Mutineers, Naked Neighbours, Drowning Houdini, Nah, Halfcut Hicks and Creatures of the Bog.

Festival of Folk

Held across three nights, Burrinja’s Festival of Folk will kick off with Canadian outfit Inn Echo, followed by fellow countrymen Scott Cook and the Little Rippers and Canadian-based and Irish-born Irish Mythen.

When: Thursday March 5, Saturday March 14 and Friday March 27, 8pm

Where: Burrinja Cultural Centre, 351 Glenfern Road, Upwey

The Tudor Choristers

Specialising in a capella performances of Renaissance-era pieces, The Tudor Choristers will perform William Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices and Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Tenebrae Responsories for Holy Week.

When: Wednesday March 25, 7-8.30pm

Where: St. John's Anglican Church, 552 Burke Road, Camberwell
