Henrys Mercato

With two locations based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Henry’s Mercato changes up its specials on fruit and veg most days, with broccoli currently at $3 per kilogram and Imperial mandarins $4 a kilo.

Wholefood Merchants

Spruiking itself as the largest health food store in Melbourne and stocking more than 35,000 products, specials include 25 percent off select Ollie’s Kitchen products like their Pumpkin Gnocchi and 30 percent off Ceres Organics’ pea chips range.

Food Factory Sales

You can find supermarket brand non-perishable items at cheaper prices direct from the factory at Food Factory Sales. Examples of recent specials included Fantastic noodle cups for $1 and four 1.25 litre bottles of Raw C coconut water for $5.

Big Watermelon

While Wantirna South’s answer to the three-meter-high and nine-meter wide “Big Watermelon” in Chinchilla, Queensland, isn’t quite as big, the Victorian Big Watermelon fruit wholesalers make up for it in discounted fruit and veggies.

Recent deals have included two bunches of kale for $5 and three extra large stalks of celery for $3.

This wholesale meat and poultry store offers a wide range of premium and discount cuts, as well as pre-made stirfrys.

Bargain Depot Grocery Clearance

Certain popular brands of non-perishable items can be discounted by up to 70 percent on the shelves, with a range of American drinks and sweets available.

Operating across a number of stores for more than 30 years, Sacca’s Fine Foods offers produce, pantry staples and ingredients. Recent examples of special deals include three Continental cucumbers for $4 and Pink Lady apples for $4.88 a kilo.
