Maroondah Festival

Croydon’s premiere event for the year is almost here, featuring market stalls from local producers, artists and business owners.

Other attractions include rides – an “unlimited” rides wristband is available for $49.95 – circus skills workshops, live music, performances and presentations.

Melbourne Datsun Day

In the 1970s, the old advertising slogan for the Datsun “Do it in a Datsun”, pointing to its impressive performance on the racetrack. 

Now, Datsuns left on the road have become valuable collector’s items, with one model chasing more than a million dollars at auction in 2020.

Head to the Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club on Sunday November 16 to take a look at the vintage cars, alongside Nissan, Prince and Infiniti models, with all proceeds going to multiple sclerosis research.

Cherry Picking at Cherry Hill Orchards

As the old proverb goes, “the fruit you pick often tastes the sweetest”. Cherry Hill Orchards will open up its gardens to the public this month to come grab cherries for two hours and munch away while you work.

When: Every day from November 7 to December 24 in Coldstream and every day from November 24 to January 4, except for Christmas, in Wandin

Where: 474 Queens Road, Wandin East and 739 Maroondah Highway, Coldstream

Cost: $25 for adults, $15 for children aged four to 13 on weekends and $22.50 for adults and $13 for children on weekdays

North Ringwood Community House 50th anniversary

The North Ringwood Community House (NRCH) community will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with an open day. Visitors can explore historical displays, join in on hands-on activities and enjoy a free sausage sizzle and catering.

“It’s about honouring the countless cups of tea shared, classes held, and smiles exchanged,” said NRCH chief executive Helen Ferguson.

Kitty Flanagan - Gladgame

Regularly featuring on Have You Been Paying Attention? and with her own hit show, Fisk, Flanagan is bringing her stand-up show to audiences in the Hills.

Kilsyth Festival

The Kilsyth Festival aims to showcase ways locals can improve their home environment via market stalls and workshops from local businesses and community groups.

Other activities include live music, food and entertainment, such as West African drumming, a magic show and aerial performances.

Arj Barker - The Mind Field

Known for his work on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords and a regular face across Australia’s stand-up scene, Barker is bringing his American honesty to the stage at Shoppingtown Hotel late in the month.
